Mostly Down

Not so good last night and today. The nasty bug has retreated but the chest thing is settling in despite the antibiotics. I am going to book another appointment. That is all I have to say tonight really. No thoughts. No activities. A day of sleeping and being over-sensitive.

But I am going on holiday next year! To the lovely Lake District with all my family and F and S. Will be lovely!

  1. I sincerely hope you get better, but aren't antibiotics much better than all that holistic nonsense and crystal malarky.

As for the Lake District...YEAH! Me and Suzi are only a stones throw away...well a couple of hours anyway. Perhaps we can meet up???? Lots of lovely special magical places there! Castle Rigg Stone Circle and Long Meg and her daughters....hmmmm something to look forward to for sure.

    Love and hugs,

  3. I am on the fence. I believe in both and think there is a time and a place for both. My Mum is both a herbalist and a nurse so I grew up with both working well together.

Antibiotics are amazing things. They save so many people and things that so many would have died from are no longer deadly. In times gone by I would have grown up deaf from all the ear infections I used to get.

There is more to the body than treating the occasional symtpoms though and sometimes the holistic approach is much much better. Particularly for those nasty subtle things that cause all sorts of odd problems. Holistic medicine is much, much more likely to get to the root cause. The body is a system and everything is linked. This is one of the reasons Chinese medicine can be so sophisticated.

We used to believe the Native American Indians were deluded for thinking everything was made of energy but in fact they were right. I suspect western medicine will in time come to incorporate some of the subtleties of other systems, just like it appreciates herbalism from which many of it's drugs come.

If I can't sleep I would rather have a cup of chamomile tea than a sleeping pill.... And holistic medicine helped cure my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome when western medicine washed it's hands of it.

Everything in it's place and a place for everything...
